Fast fashion as an industry hosts a myriad of ethical and environmental problems. How might we mitigate the impacts of fast fashion’s unsustainable practices by encouraging ethical and empathic user clothing consumption through AI-powered up-cycling practices.

The project began with the development of a low-fidelity wireframe, which addressed the essential features for empowering individuals to up-cycle their clothing effectively. Through these screens, we were able to develop a seamless user flow, mapping out how navigation would efficiently unfold across the platform.

As the user flow became more refined, it paved the way for the development of a comprehensive design language. Drawing inspiration from the self-expression in streetwear, our aim was to infuse the design with a sense of DIY ethos. The platform needed to convey elegance with personality, especially considering the target audience is within the fashion industry and its intimate connection with consumers.

We explored various aesthetics that aligned with our primary objectives of prioritizing usability and practicality, while also embracing an eclectic style that encouraged individuality, experimentation, and confidence.

This journey of exploration eventually guided us to Brutalist design as the most fitting. This direction not only lent our designs a distinct character but also gave a sense of confidence and purpose.
